Govenors Bay

Governors Bay has one of the best sandy beaches in the Queen Charlotte Sound. It is backed by a Department of Conservation scenic reserve with a grass picnic area, long-drop toilet and a short walking trail to the Queen Charlotte Drive.

The eastern part of this bay is a very pleasant anchorage in winds up to 20 knots from the north and also gives good shelter in south-east to south winds.

Winds from the south-west to west tend to curve straight into the bay.

This is a beautiful anchorage in a small, quiet bay. Take your dinghy ashore to picnic or swim.
