Warnings of temporary statements of caution are shown on the map as a pin near the event. These warnings are generated by reports to and from the Harbour Masters' office and are also broadcast and repeated on the Marlborough Maritime radio channels.
Examples of warnings that may be posted include large ships coming into the harbour, logs floating in the water, oil spills or commercial operations in the Marlborough Sounds.
If you are involved in an accident or a near miss on the water, please report it to the Harbour Master to help us identify issues on the spot, therefore reducing the risk to other water users and improving the safety of all.
The Harbour Masters' office can be contacted 24 hours a day by calling 03 520 7400.
